Remembering what you need to do for your homework is one thing, but remembering you have homework at all is another issue!
School Life allows teachers to create Homework for their classes using the Homework module.

The student or parent can then login to the shools website and view their assigned homework under the homework option in the menu - No more excuses for homework!
Newsletters are important to all schools, they provide key information on whats happening within the school its local community and on many occasions the printed newsletters don't reach parents in time.
School Life resolves this issue with the newsletter module. The Newsletter module allows certain staff memebers to create and edit online newsletters ready for it to be distributed to all the parents at the same time.
The easy to use drag and drop content editor allows multiple staff to edit and amend newsletters, filling it with their content that they want to send to the parents.
Once ready to publish, a simple tick of box, the newsletter gets pushed to all parents who have logged in to the School Life Mobile Application where they can view the newsletter online, or as a PDF as well view previously sent newsletters
If parents are not using the app, they can login to the schools website using their parent username/password and find the newsletter under the newsletter menu link.
Along with Newsletters for parents, general school news can be very important. The ability to let everyone that the school is closed due to bad weather, or a reminder that is World Book Day is invaluable.
News can be assigned be visible to certain groups or classes or to the general publc.
Creating news posts using the News module in School Life is as easy as all of the other sectons, using the same drag and drop content editor your able to the article and publish within seconds.
Blogs and Blog Posts are very similar the the news articles, however blog posts have the ability to be grouped in months, making it easier for users to read the information they are looking for.
Emailing is another important communication method for schools and parents on a daily basis. School Life's Email Module allows staff to create, attach, schedule and send emails directly from the system.
Recipients are selected for a list of users already associated to the school including parents, staff and students. You can either select the individual or select a group that has been created, for example selecting the group "football team" and selecting "Parent" will select all the parents emails associated to the students who come under the football team group.
This allows you to send emails quickly and accurately to the right people
The School Life Email module also allows you to schedule future emails to be sent, and view previous emails that have been sent including the content of the email, who sent the email and who it was going to.
Many schools still use SMS to communicate with parents. Not only is this an outdated communicate method for schools, its also proven to be expensive. Every few years people may update or change their phone and even network and be given a new mobile number.
Its easily forgotten that schools use the old contact number when sending SMS messages. This leads to SMS messages sent by the school not being received by the parent.
This leaves the parent missing potentially vital information and costing the school in the process!
The Push Notification module operates differently from SMS messages. It doesn't rely on the telephone number but the users account with School Life.
Once logged in, the parent, staff member and even student can receive a push nofication targeted directly to them or the group and class that they may be in
Once the user has the School Life Mobile Application installed from either iTunes or Google Play, they simply login with their username/password to gain account to their account with the school and thats it! This means if they change the mobile number, mobile network or even device, they can download the app and continue to receive the messages
Similar to the emails module you can view previously send push messages and schedule future messages to be sent.
Communicating and recieving valuable feedback from parents or guardians is vital for every school. School Life makes that easier by providing a "Form" page, where you can create your own forms.
Its really easy to create a new form. When creating a new page simply selecting the type as "form" will create a new section ready to be used.
Using the standard drag and drop editor, you place the fields you want in the form and add the content. Options range from single/multi lines of text to date sections, multiple choice and checkboxes.
The forms created can be accessed by the public or by certain groups and classes.
For more information on creating unique surveys, which can be accessed online and offline and linked directly in your school's website, please go to kuwanda
Having the ability to communicate to specific groups can be invaluable to staff members where time is something they don't have much of during the day. School Life makes manging its users and groups very clear and simple process.
Every user of School Life that has account with the school is either a Staff Member, Parent/Guardian or a Student, which automatically controls their level of access once they have logged in.
Staff members have additional permissions, this allows you assign a certain member of staff different duties, such as a receptionist being alowed to create newsletters but not be able to send Push Nofications.
Once users have been created, they can be added to groups that you have created, such as Year 2, Year 3 or the school football team. Managing users is a easy as dragging and dropping their name from box to box!
Groups are used throughout the School Life system to make it easier for users to show the correct content to the correct users as well as for sending notifications!
Parents evening is one of the most time consuming processes for schools. Lots of paperwork and organisation is required days before the evening has even started.
School Life's Parents Evening module aims to make the process much more effecient and less time consuming.
Once the event has been created, and the staff memebers have been added who will be attending the event, time slots can be allocated to each of the staff memebers which are available for parents to book.
Booking is made simple by the parent logging in to the School Life Mobile Application or the school's website where they can select the time slot that suits.
Everything is logged with School Life, so no more paperwork to be sent out which gets lost!
